Creative Clusters 2025 - 2027 Applications Now OPEN !!

The Department of Education is pleased to announce the opening of a new round of Creative Clusters.  The deadline for receipt of online applications is 10th April.

Each Creative Cluster will receive grant funding of €3,000 per school over a two-year period to implement their project 2025–2027. 

  • 3 schools would receive €9,000
  • 5 schools would receive €15,000 

In addition to financial support above each cluster will also receive: 

  • A Creative Cluster Facilitator 
  • Teacher Substitution to attend Workshops and Meetings
  • Room hire, travel & subsistence

Eligible Schools - The following schools are welcome to apply to participate in Creative Clusters:

  • Schools that have not yet participated in Creative Clusters.
  • Schools that have  not yet participated in Creative Schools and those who will complete Creative Schools Year 2 in the 2024/25 school year.
  • Schools that will complete Creative Clusters Year 2 in the 2025/25 school year. However, they must apply as part of a cluster who have not yet participated in the initiative. In this instance, it is required that this school applies to lead a cluster of schools that are new to the initiative.
  • The local Education Support Centre will have a key role in identifying and supporting a Creative Cluster for their local area.
  • 42 Creative Clusters will be selected nationally - 2 per Education Support Centre. 

Creative Clusters is an initiative of the Department of Education, led by and in partnership with the 21 full-time Education Centres (Education Support Centres Ireland - ESCI) and funded through the Schools Excellence Fund.

Sam's Business Bus - FREE Entreprenurial Programme for 5th & 6th Class Pupils

Sam’s Business Bus is a nationwide entrepreneurial program, generously funded by Enterprise Ireland and EDelia Learning. It’s crafted by educators for educators, ensuring it perfectly aligns with your teaching goals while enriching your curriculum. This free program is dedicated to inspiring children aged ten to twelve by exposing them to the fascinating world of entrepreneurship.

This FREE innovative program, designed for 5th and 6th class students, aims to nurture the business leaders of tomorrow through a comprehensive and engaging curriculum.

Programme Highlights

  • Enjoy a dynamic mix of digital worksheets, animated videos, and engaging classroom activities that make learning about entrepreneurship fun and interactive.
  • The programme is delivered weekly over a school term through Zoom, making it easily accessible for all participating schools.
  • Each registered class will receive guidance from a personal mentor who will assist in implementing the program and tailoring it to your students’ needs.
  • Throughout the learning journey, there are numerous opportunities to reward your pupils with badges and certificates, and even Pizza Parties celebrating their achievements and milestones.

What will students learn

  • Discover the meaning of entrepreneurship and explore leadership qualities and management strategies.
  • Identify local leaders and produce case studies spotlighting entrepreneurs in your community.
  • Learn about goal setting, achieving goals, and the importance of measuring progress with key performance indicators
  • Learn about values and vision and the importance of Sustainability.
  • Develop an action plan for daily tasks, applying business strategies to personal and academic life.
  • Opportunity to showcase the students ideas.
