Where else would you come to fully immerse yourself in nature? Come to Killarney National Park to take part in “Exciting Ways to Teach Nature” a Summer Course for Primary School Teachers based in the Old School House, Killarney National Park.

The course is a Department of Education Approved Course and will run from Monday 1^st July to Friday 5^th July (9.30 – 2.00) and will be led by the very experienced Killarney National Park Education Team.  You will be learning about the ecology of woodland, bog, grassland, river and stream habitats, why they are so important and what methods you can utilize to teach your pupils about them. 

Most days will start off with an indoor, introductory session to a particular topic.  This will be followed by an outdoor practical session, where you will be carrying out fieldwork and educational activities and playing ecologically themed games in a number of the variety of habitats that occur in the national park.   

Summer Course Booking Policy

Our summer courses are booked on the condition that the course fee is non-refundable.
Unfortunately, if you wish to cancel your place on one of our courses or are unable to attend the course, we are not in a position to refund fees.

Tralee Education Support Centre reserves the right to cancel a Summer Course where there are not sufficient numbers to run the course.
In the event of the Centre having to cancel your course, you will be offered an alternative course or offered a full refund.

In line with DES Circular 0037/1997, participants attending Summer Courses accrue entitlements as follows:

• Full Attendance (20 Hours): 3 EPV Days
• 4 Days Attendance (16 Hours): 2 EPV Days
• No EPV days will be awarded for less than 4 days attendance
