In this practical, no-nonsense webinar, participants will explore what purposeful play can look like in middle and senior classes and how it can support deep, meaningful learning without sacrificing rigour or structure.
Participants will look at how to move into curriculum-aligned playful learning that promotes thinking, creativity, collaboration and independence across subjects.
Participants will leave with:
- Practical strategies for embedding playful learning in older classes
- Ideas for promoting pupil agency and engagement
Presenter: Gillian Corbally
Gillian Corbally is a primary school teacher with fifteen years’ experience in a large urban school and currently holds the role of APII. She is a facilitator in play and playful pedagogies, co-host of the The Playful Lens Podcast and a creator and presenter of CPD webinars. Gillian has written DES-approved EPV/CPD courses and also writes articles on playful learning. Gillian works as an associate for the NCCA and also for Mary Immaculate College. Her work centres on playful learning, particularly in middle and senior primary classrooms.
