Date: Tuesday 16th April 2024
Time: 7 - 8 pm
Venue: Online via Zoom
Target Audience: Mainstream Primary School Teachers & SNAS
This is not an information session for the Deis Literacy & Numeracy Summer Camps. Further details in relation to these camps can be found by contacting Navan/Dublin West Education Support Centres.
In this webinar the Inspectorate will provide information on the essential points from the Department of Education’s guidance document on the Summer Programme 2024 - Building Confidence and Connections. We will address the context of mainstream Primary schools offering the programme. A key component of the webinar will involve sharing good practice from previous summer programmes, which will also include feedback from young people, parents and summer programme managers. The webinar will also provide an opportunity to look at lessons learnt from Summer Programme 2023. Information on how to involve young people in the planning of the summer programme, how to engage with parents and how to report progress and achievement to parents and to the school will be shared.
A team from the Department of Education will answer questions in the background through the Q&A function. Some of these questions may be addressed orally at the end of the webinar time permitting.
