Teacher Peer Observation (TPO) is a highly effective form of in-situ professional development for teachers. It is about teachers learning from each other through observation, affirming good practice, providing feedback, sharing ideas, and collaborating for improvement.
This webinar seeks to present some ideas for helping schools to get started on implementing TPO and making your school’s peer observation system as successful and effective as possible, thereby building professional learning communities, and fostering teacher professional development, support, and collegiality.
Bio of Presenter: Hugh Coughlan
Hugh Coughlan is an Assistant Principal 1 and teacher of French and Irish at North Presentation Secondary School, Cork. He holds an MA in French and postgraduate diplomas in Educational Leadership, Education Law, and Human Resource Management. He recently completed an M.Ed. in University College Cork. His research focused on Teacher Peer Observation.
