Target Audience: Leaving Cert Ordinary Maths Teachers
This webinar focuses on teaching trigonometry to Leaving Cert Ordinary Level students through active, engaging and real-life approaches. Emphasis will be placed on accessing students' prior knowledge of triangles, ratio and Pythagoras, and building new understanding of sine, cosine, tangent, and the sine and cosine rules from this foundation.
Participants will explore practical classroom strategies including mini-whiteboard activities, diagnostic questioning, spot-the-mistake tasks and structured problem-solving, with a strong focus on common OL misconceptions and exam readiness. All strategies shared will be classroom-ready and adaptable to mixed-ability settings.
