Target Audience: Post Primary Geography Teachers

This webinar will provide an insightful session on teaching Global Climate Change in the new Leaving Certificate Geography specification. The main focus of the webinar will be practical approaches to planning for and teaching Learning Outcomes 1.14 and 1.15 of Strand 1 – The Physical Environment.

✔  1.14 Investigate the impact of climate change on physical and human environments
✔  1.15 Examine responses to global climate change.

The webinar will provide:

  • Clear overview of the spec
  • Guidance on learning outcomes
  • Practical methodologies
  • Effective classroom and assessment strategies
  • Demonstrate how skills from the unifying strand are incorporated into lessons involving Learning Outcomes 1.14 and 1.15

Bio of Presenter: Liam Maughan

Liam has been teaching Geography for over 25 years. He teaches geography in Coláiste Iognáid, Galway – a Jesuit-run city school known locally as “The Jes”. He is also an experienced Leaving Cert higher level geography examiner and co-author of Core, the new Leaving Cert Geography book for the new specification published by Gill. Originally from County Mayo, he lives in Athenry, Co. Galway.
