- 5 vital "Strand 1" LO's will be covered on the evening
- Patrick will look at the vital role numeracy plays in History, especially in relation LO 1.10
- Getting students to use and create their own historical timelines.
- Getting students to access and get "Hands on" with Archive Material (LO 1.5 to 1.8)
As always with Patrick, many sources, resources and practical ideas will be shared.
Bio of Presenter: Patrick Hickey - @lchistorytutor
Patrick Hickey teaches History in Boherbue Comprehensive School, Co. Cork. Patrick is a State Examiner for 20 years; 11 of those as a Leaving Cert History Higher Level Examiner. If anyone knows the inside track on the Leaving Cert. History Exam; it’s him! Among teachers and students, he is best known as the @lchistorytutor. You’ll find him on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, where he has a growing following. There he answers questions and offers advice to both students and teachers in an innovative and engaging way in all things History! Patrick is a regular speaker at History Association seminars for both student and teachers, mainly presenting on the areas of exam technique, as well as sharing the inside track on how to achieve success in the Leaving Cert. History Exam. He was also a keynote speaker at this year's "Irish History Summit".
