Independent reading is a key skill for progression through the education system and into the world of work. Text to speech software provides a powerful tool to support reading for all students including those with specific learning needs but students need to be shown how to integrate this into effective reading practices.
This workshop will give a demonstration of some of the most helpful text to speech options and look at designing classroom activities to help students understand how to make the most of these tools as part of their reading repertoire.
Who should attend?
Subject teachers, SEN and EAL teachers, SNAs from primary to FE
