This hour-long webinar will explore the Seamus Heaney poems on the Leaving Cert curriculum, considering the links between them. It will offer advice for approaching the Poetry section of Paper II from how to plan out answers, possible structures for the essay and what examiners will be looking out for. With insights from the Seamus Heaney archive at the National Library of Ireland, and a focus on examination technique this will be a valuable resource for English teachers.
Bio of Presenter: Jennifer Duffy

This webinar will be presented by Jennifer Duffy who is a Visitor Experience Assistant with ‘Seamus Heaney: Listen Now Again’, a National Library of Ireland exhibition based in the Bank of Ireland Cultural and Heritage Centre, Westmoreland Street, Dublin 2. This exhibition tells the story of Seamus Heaney's life and poetry through the archive of drafts, letters, and notebooks he and his family donated to the National Library of Ireland in 2011. It opened in 2018 and is a partnership between the National Library of Ireland, the Department of Media, Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sport and the Gaeltacht and Bank of Ireland.
Jennifer has an undergraduate degree in English Literature and History of Art from TCD, and a masters degree in Curating, Collections and History of Art from UCD. She has worked as a tour guide and museum educator with a number of cultural institutions, and is passionate about making the arts exciting and accessible for all.
