This webinar looks at practical strategies and approaches which encourage self-compassion as a way nurturing the wellbeing and resilience of school staffs. Self- compassion is crucial for staff resilience and is particularly important in high-need areas for example, DEIS schools and special classes. Wellbeing is a much-talked about topic in schools. This focused approach (i.e. channeling self-compassion) to staff wellbeing provides specific ideas and tips which will enable people to thrive through the final term and beyond! The content of this webinar is informed by approaches adapted from positive psychology, coaching psychology and classroom experience.
Bio of Presenter: Aisling O' Donovan
This webinar is presented by Aisling O’Donovan. As a graduate of Mary Immaculate college, Aisling went on to work in a variety of settings including rural, DEIS and senior schools. Having seen the challenges that teachers face in schools, Aisling aspired to learn more about ways teachers can ensure they are their ‘best self’ in their role so she went on to complete a Masters in Positive and Coaching psychology from UCC. She recently set up ‘The Áthas Academy’ - an online community for her coaching and positive psychology practice which endeavors to encourage staff and student wellbeing. To date, Aisling has completed a range of webinars in this area. Aisling is currently working as a Special Education Teacher and has seen first hand how approaches from positive psychology have benefited her school community.
