Gender Diversity in the Post Primary School
In this training event Dr Aidan Kelly will give a brief introduction to the following areas:
- the development of gender identity in children and adolescents
- description of what his clinical work entails
- important factors for schools to consider when supporting gender diverse students
- signposting to relevant services in Ireland
- interactive discussion on some case examples for discussion
Dr Aidan Kelly is a Clinical Psychologist who works in the area of Child and Adoloscent Mental Health. He has a special interest in the area of Gender Dysphoria. Dr Kelly works at the NHS' Gender Identity Development Service (GIDS) at the Tavistock Centre in London, as well as running a small private practice. Through his public and private work he assesses and treats children and adolescents with gender dysphoria in both the UK and Ireland.
