Target Audience: Primary and Post-primary teachers, SNAs, and school staff who want to better understand and support student behaviour through a neuroaffirmative and practical approach.
This webinar explores how to understand behaviour through a sensory lens. By shifting the focus from “managing behaviour” to recognising what behaviour is communicating, teachers and SNAs can develop more compassionate, effective responses to dysregulation.
Through real-life examples and teacher survey insights, this session will:
Participants will leave with a stronger understanding of the connection between behaviour and sensory regulation, and with practical tools they can use immediately in their classrooms.
Bio of Presenter: Sorcha Rice
Sorcha Rice is an autistic occupational therapist with a PDA profile and a background in trauma-informed, child-led practice. She is part of the School Therapy Pilot Programme and is passionate about creating practical supports that benefit both students and teachers. Sorcha delivers training and talks on sensory regulation, PDA, and neurodiversity-affirming practice, always centering lived experience and practical application.
