These webinars explore the opportunities that physical education can facilitate in developing children’s learning across a number of curricular area through meaningful integration. It aims to provide a range of practical ways to assist in the teaching and consolidation of learning across curricular areas such as Maths and SESE. It is envisaged that through a range of practical content, teachers will be equipped with fun and innovative ways to achieve the objectives for both primary physical education and other subjects. The inclusion of content linked to ICT will allow for innovative approaches that can facilitate learning and assessment throughout the curriculum.

Suzy Macken is a lecturer in Marino Institute of Education, specialising in primary physical education, movement development in early childhood, and education and sport inclusion, diversity and diversion. Her areas of interest are the active involvement of children in the learning process by embedding assessment for learning in the teaching of primary physical education. As a qualified primary teacher, Suzy adopts an approach, supported by local primary schools, whereby practice is modelled for pre-service teachers in real life contexts.
