Target Audience: Post Primary school teachers teaching higher & ordinary level Irish

Is é aidhm an tseimineáir ghréasáin seo ná a thaispeáint conas is féidir aonad cuimsitheach oibre, a chuimsíonn gach gné d’fhoghlaim na Gaeilge, a fhorbairt trí úsáid a bhaint as aon phíosa litríochta. Is féidir le téacs feidhmiú mar uirlis chumhachtach chun tacú le múinteoirí cumas na ndaltaí a fheabhsú sa scríbhneoireacht, sa labhairt agus sa tuiscint ar an nGaeilge.

Léiríonn an cur chuige seo conas is féidir litríocht a úsáid ní hamháin don léamhthuiscint, ach freisin mar bhunús chun teanga labhartha, scríbhneoireacht chruthaitheach agus fheidhmiúil, scileanna éisteachta, agus forbairt foclóra a chothú. Trí na scileanna seo a chomhtháthú ar bhealach bríoch agus comhtháite, tugtar tacaíocht do dhaltaí muinín a fhorbairt i ngach gné dá dturas foghlama teanga.

The aim of this webinar is to demonstrate how a comprehensive block of work, incorporating all aspects of learning Irish, can be developed using any piece of literature. A text can serve as a powerful tool to support teachers in enhancing students’ ability to write, speak, and understand Irish.

This approach shows how literature can be used not only for reading comprehension, but also as a foundation for developing oral language, creative and functional writing, listening skills, and vocabulary development. By integrating these skills in a meaningful and connected way, students are supported in building confidence across all aspects of their language learning journey.
