26TRA517 Mattie`s Journal Prompt Live In-class session (Second Class)

Target Audience: Second Class

Join us for a live in-class session where Michelle and Mattie will demonstrate how they make their mathematical thinking using Maths Journals as a formative assessment tool. They will also prompt your class to make a journal entry themselves, using an appropriate prompt for their class level. This will give class teachers an opportunity to see first-hand how pupils can be guided, prompted and encouraged to make their mathematical thinking visible, and demonstrate their creativity and individuality.

Each session will last for approximately 25 minutes, and pupils are required to have a blank page and something to write with, and colour in with.

Bio of Presenter: Michelle Culloty

Michelle Culloty is a Primary School Teacher with 13 years teaching experience. She has a degree in Computer Science and a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Leadership.

She has been seconded to Oide for the past 6 years, as a Professsional Learning Leader on the Primary STEM Team. She was heavily involved in the design of the CPD for the New Primary Maths Curriculum, and has a unique insight into and understanding of same. She regularly facilitates whole school closure days, school support, webinars and face-to-face sessions. Her Instagram handle is @mathschats.
