Leading the Strategic Planning Process

In this session Ruairí Harvey will present to school leaders on:

• The importance of Strategic Planning
• The key steps in Leading and Developing  a Strategic Plan
• The implementation and evaluation of a Strategic Plan

Ruairí Harvey is the GAA’s Organisational Development Manager with responsibility for officer training and strategic planning at all levels of the Association.  During that time, he has overseen the development and implementation of two organisation-wide strategic plans and is currently leading a group with Uachtarán CLG, Larry McCarthy, to develop a new long-term strategy for the Association. He also authored a guidebook and toolkit for County Committees to create strategic plans.

He was previously the Association’s Player Welfare Officer from 2012-2015.  He holds a BBs (Hons). Sports Development from LYIT, MSc Sports Management from UCD and an Executive MBA from DCU.

As part of his MBA, he led a team of four colleagues - with senior roles in Google, MasterCard, General Motors and Aviareto - to complete a two-year consultancy project with the Technology Programme Office in Aer Lingus to measure their digital transformation strategy.
