20TRA520 Using the Ocean to get creative with Numeracy in the classroom

This course will outline creative ways of using the ocean to engage and motivate students with numeracy in the classroom to celebrate Maths Week 2020. This will include looking at shapes and patterns with shells, using ocean pictures to explore spatial awareness,  methods for exploring measurements on the seashore and in the outdoor classroom,  and examining data to investigate the issue of marine litter for environmental awareness and case. This course will provide participants with creative ideas and teaching methodologies and provide updates on online content from www.explorers.ie
