The Education Centre Tralee is delighted to collaborate with the NCTE

and FÍS (Film In Schools) project to continue and improve interest and

participation in the FÍS Project.

In this context we acknowledge the support of the all the schools that

Participated in the FÍS project in 2007, 2010 and 2011.  The following

Kerry schools have achieved awards at the national finals: –

• Scoil Dhún Chaoin, Dingle won an award in 2007 for their film “Ní mar a síltear a bítear”
• Scoil Eoin, Balloonagh, Tralee won the Outstanding Achievement award in Film Making for 'Documentary' in 2010 for their film “The First Rose”
• Scoil Naomh Eirc, Kilmoyley won the Outstanding Achievement award in Film Making for 'Documentary' in 2011 for their film “Homemade Brown Bread”
• Fossa National School, Fossa won the  Outstanding Achievement award in Film Making for 'History' in 2011 for their film “Niamh & Oisín in Tír na nÓg”

You are invited to an information meeting to continue and improve interest and

support participation in the FÍS Project on Tuesday 31st January at 5.00pm.

We hope that this Meeting will provide schools with first –hand information on

the various elements of the FÍS project together with the opportunity to discuss

elements with Colleagues, who have already participated in the project.  Schools

As you will be aware FÍS is an initiative of the Department of Education and

Science and is a project designed to introduce the medium of film as a support

to the Primary School Curriculum (Curaclam na Bunscoile).
